Happy Birthday Otter Tag...

This month's Poppy Stamp challenge is GIFT so I made a birthday tag. This time I used the otter stamps as otters instead of ferrets, LOL!

I created the background on the tag with gelatos and oil pastels. I embossed the waves in white EP on the tag and also on a piece of vellum. To create a bit more texture and color I added dots of nail polish. I wasn't sure how they would work. They're not quite as high as enamel dots but they look pretty cool in person.

supplies used: Poppy Stamps (Christmas Friends), MFT (From the Whole Herd), Spectrum Noir markers, colored pencils, Stampendous embossing powder, vellum, nail polish

from the whole herd...

Tried something a bit different today. I've seen so many people photographing their cards flat and overhead so I gave it a try. Ehhh, I'm not sure. Reminds me a bit of the old days where we used to scan our layouts in and then stitch them together, LOL!

supplies used: MFT The Whole Herd, Spectrum Noir, Crafters Companion Fence die, washi tape

30 Day Coloring Challenge- Day2

I'm really excited to have some time to play along with Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge this time! Every time she's done it in the past life has always seemed to get in the way for me. Yesterday's colored images are waiting to be made into cards still. For Day 2, I colored up the Stampendous Cling Seashell Jar with alcohol markers and colored pencils. The sentiment is from the Stampendous Ocean Wisdom Clear Set.

Besties...

About a week ago I posted a photo to instagram of lots and lots of circles I cut using Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Dies. Today I finally finished the layout!

I taped the dies together so they would cut exactly the same size for each color and then cut a rainbow of colors. The hardest part of assembling the rainbow in the same color order. I kept messing up my circles, LOL!

I used the Paper Smooches Paw Print die to create a mask and ink paw prints on my green paper. The "happy" is from Paper Smooches Happy Birthday Die set and cut from fun foam. The foam allows you to bend your words a bit and add whimsy.

The base of the layout is an acrylic XL Heart from Clear Scraps. I sanded both the front and back to give it a frosted look.

Supplies used:
Paper Smooches Dies - Pawprints, Happy Birthday
Clear Scrap Acrylic XL Hearts
Jillybean soup Frames
7Gypsies, Kaiser Kraft and American Craft  stickers

Ferrets and Valentines Day...

Today I'm sharing another card I made using Paper Smooches Feb Challenge image as inspiration. This time instead of flowers, I filled the heart with paw prints.

I die cut Paper Smooches Paw Prints from a heart and then filled the spaces with paw prints die cut from black/grey cardstock. I built up the scallop heart with circle die cuts again. (see last post)

The ferret stamps are actually otters from the Poppy Stamps Christmas Friends set. As soon as I saw that set, I ordered it because I knew they could be transformed into ferrets. There's not too many ferret stamps out there and you have to get creative ;)

Here's a picture of my cuties, Goose and Bug that were my models for coloring.
